The city witnessed rainfall of 250 millimeters from around 04:00 Saturday to about 22:00 Sunday. In particular, 155 mm of rainfall was observed between 16:00 and 19:00 Saturday.

The heavy rain left 5 240 dwelling houses, 99 public service buildings and 51 railway sections including a bridge destroyed and 125 hectares of farmland inundated.

All its citizens have turned out in a campaign to heal the flood damage while offering relief goods to the victims.
