Rodong Sinmun Slams U.S. Moves to Ignite New War
Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Department of State recently approved the plan of the Lockheed Martin to sell the Aegis combat system and a set of the latest facilities for detecting submarines to Japan.

Shortly ago, it also approved the sale of arms equipment worth 2.5 billion U.S. dollars to south Korea under the signboard of the "project for improving the performance of fighters".

Meanwhile, the U.S. is mulling deploying for the first time F-35B in a unit of the U.S. Marines to be transferred to the base in Iwakuni, Japan in 2017 and transferring 4 global hawks to the Misawa U.S. military base in Aomori Prefecture, Japan from Guam.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a commentary in this regard:

The above-said U.S. moves are aimed to turn the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula into an advance base for rounding off its worldwide missile defence system and forward-deploy the latest weapons needed for igniting a new war in a bid to escalate its military pressure and threat to the DPRK.

Keen on confrontation and war, the U.S. is making desperate efforts to save its hostile policy toward the DPRK from total failure, far from drawing a serious lesson from it.

Aware that there is no chance of victory in the ideological and moral confrontation with the DPRK, the U.S. is making a foolish bid to bring the former to its knees by pressurizing it through military and technical advantages.

It seeks to ignite the second Korean war the moment it is sure that it has upper hand of muscle.

The situation goes to clearly prove that the U.S. delivery of the latest military hardware to its war servants and its beef up of forces in the vicinity of the peninsula would only escalate the tension on the peninsula and put the regional peace and security at greater peril.
