Guy Dupre, president of the France-Korea Friendship Association, said:

The Korean people waged vigorous struggle to end the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and liberate the country under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and finally regained the sovereignty of the country.

The President and leader Kim Jong Il laid out national reunification proposals of historic significance and developed socialist Korea into a country independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant in defence, wisely leading the Korean people's movement for national reunification.

Saber Ballul, head of a department of the Political Faculty of the University of Damascus of Syria, said:

The President is an outstanding ideological theoretician who performed immortal ideological and theoretical exploits by creating the original Juche idea and Songun idea.

Kim Jong Il who carried forward the cause of the President firmly defended socialism chosen by the Korean people bravely smashing the imperialists' persistent moves to stifle the DPRK under the banner of the Juche idea and Songun idea.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation, the progressive people of the world sincerely wished the friendly Korean people lasting victory and prosperity in their struggle for the building of a thriving nation and for national reunification under the leadership of H.E. Kim Jong Un.
