DPRK Civilians Take Active Part in Assisting Army
Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The spirit of assisting the army is growing stronger among civilians in the frontline areas of the DPRK in a quasi-state of war.

Han Sang Jun, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial People's Committee, told KCNA:

The inhabitants in the province will stand in the same trench with the servicepersons when the time has come for decisive battles. In the last period of the Fatherland Liberation War, the provincial people heroically struggled to provide ammunitions and war supplies to the front.

Such spirit can be felt in Kaesong City and North Hwanghae Province, too.

Jo Jun Hak, chairman of the North Hwanghae Provincial Rural Economy Committee, said that the agricultural workers in the province are ready to turn out in the life-and-death struggle, together with the servicepersons.

In Kaesong, a frontline city, many citizens were seen handing over aid materials to military vehicles running toward the front.

Kim Song Un, an old man residing in Tokam-dong of the city, said that he wanted to offer the servicepersons on a high alert the aid materials as well as various foodstuff prepared for his sixtieth birthday.
