Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Observed by Foreign Newspapers
Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers dedicated articles to the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The Aug. 1st issue of the Ethiopian newspaper Reporter said that Aug. 15, 1945 was a turning point of history for the Korean people, adding the Korean nation could enjoy an independent and dignified life as the proud master of its destiny, state and society, free from the fate of the Japanese imperialists' colonial slaves.

It went on:

President Kim Il Sung, who led fifteen years of the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory and achieved the historic cause of liberating the country, founded first the Workers' Party of Korea, organizer of all victories and guide of the Korean people right after the liberation.

The people's power was established in a short span of time and democratic reforms including land reform were successfully carried out in the DPRK under the leadership of the party.

The DPRK, the first democratic people's state in the East, was founded on the basis of democratic reforms and Korea, which once suffered an eclipse on the world map, emerged in the international arena as a proud independent and sovereign state.

The Aug. 5th issue of the Indian newspaper Awaking said that the DPRK which is resolutely defending its sovereignty and dignity while resolutely standing against the imperialist allied forces is giving faith and courage to the peoples of the countries aspiring after independence and dynamically encouraging the cause of global independence.

The Aug. 13th issue of the Algerian newspaper Al-Misaa carried articles introducing the Pyongyang Vegetable Science Institute and Wonsan Baby Home and Orphanage.
