Kwangpho Duck Listed as Natural Heritage in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The Kwangpho Duck was listed as natural heritage in the DPRK.

It is highly resistant to epidemics and low in feed consumption.

It weighs 3.5 to 4 kilograms for drake and 3 to 3.5 kilograms for duck.

It lays as many as 150 to 160 eggs a year, each one weighing 60 to 90 grams.

President Kim Il Sung sent hatching eggs to the Kwangpho Duck Farm in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953). The President gave detailed instructions to acclimatize it and named it Kwangpho Duck.

The farm, located in Jongphyong County, South Hamgyong Province, has still preserved its purebred.
