Spiral Wind-driven Generator Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The Aeguk Magnet Factory under the Ministry of Electronics Industry in the DPRK developed a spiral wind-driven generator with a capacity of 100~300W and established the process for its production.

According to its manager Kim Chol Song, the newly-developed generator is able to produce electricity even at low velocity of wind.

With low noise and vibration, this spiral generator can be used in any area with a mean annual wind velocity of 2m/s. Its startup wind velocity is 0.8~1m/s.

The generator is available in towns as it is 11 percent higher than a propeller wind-driven generator in energy conversion efficiency and a fifth lower in noise level.

It won a high appraisal at the national exhibition of inventions and new technologies recently held to mark the 70th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and the national liberation.
