S. Korean Organizations Denounce Reckless War Drills
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- More than 30 south Korean organizations held a press conference near the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Aug. 17 denouncing the joint military drills for aggression, according to the south Korean internet paper Thongil News. They included the South Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korea's Reunification, People's Action for Peace against War, Solidarity for Progress, Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Peasants Associations.

They disclosed that the south Korean and the U.S. authorities hurled more than 80 000 aggression troops and at least 400 000 civilians into the Ulji Freedom Guardian war drills.

They denounced the south Korean authorities for resorting to the moves of fostering conflicts with the north, notably the resumption of broadcasting aimed at psychological warfare and leaflet-scattering, and for openly crying out for "strike at the command of the north."

They demanded the south Korean and the U.S. authorities withdraw the policy for preemptive attack and offensive operational plan and stop the war drills at once.
