S. Korean Women Demand Settlement of Sexual Slavery
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- Members of women's organizations in south Korea launched actions in demand of an apology and reparation by the Japanese government for sexual slavery for the imperial Japanese army, according to the south Korean internet paper Thongil News.

The Women's Solidarity and the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps held a meeting for settlement of the sexual slavery outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Aug. 14.

The statement read out at the meeting said that the Japanese government has beautified and denied the war of aggression and colonial rule and distorted the history even now, seven decades since the Japanese imperialists were defeated.

It called for settling the issue of sexual slavery and making a peaceful world without violence against women and war.

Prior to this, the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps held a meeting near the Japanese embassy demanding the Japanese government settle the issue of sexual slavery on Aug. 12.

Kim Pok Dong, south Korean victim of the sexual slavery, called upon people from all walks of life to struggle to the last until the Japanese government probe the truth behind the sexual slavery and make an apology and reparation for it.

Speeches were followed by information activities of pupils of primary schools in demand of restoration of the honor of the victims of sexual slavery and guarantee of human rights.

At the end of the meeting the participants marched from the Japanese embassy to the Kwanghwamun plaza and the Seoul Square.
