Korean Book, Photo and Handicraft Exhibition Opens in Russia
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- A Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition opened in Blagobeshensk City, Amur Region, Russia on Aug. 12 in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Displayed at the venue of the exhibition were photos documenting the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Also on display were their works, books and photos introducing the true picture of the DPRK and handicraft associated with the talents of the Korean people.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.

A vice-chairperson of the Amur Region Legislative Assembly said the liberation of Korea achieved by the people of the two countries 70 years ago at the cost of their blood provided a cornerstone for guaranteeing peace in Asia and the rest of the world.

The delegate of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Blagobeshensk City of Amur Region said: Amur Region is a significant place visited by His Excellency Kim Jong Il in the last period of his life. I hope for a good fruition in the bilateral friendship and cooperation in this year of Russia-DPRK friendship.
