Officials, Members of UAWK Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu
Samjiyon, August 18 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) across the country made study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from August 10 to 18 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

They laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung at the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo, the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, the Chongbong Bivouac and the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and on the shore of Lake Samji and the mosaic portraying the three commanders of Mt. Paektu in the Paektusan Secret Camp and made bows.

They went round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the post office, the police post of the Japanese imperialists and other places of the battle site.

At the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, they looked round historic relics, being briefed on how the revolutionary traditions of the Workers' Party of Korea are being steadily inherited.

They visited the Chongbong and Konchang Bivouacs, groups of subsidiary theme sculptures of the Samjiyon Grand Monument and revolutionary relics on the shore of Lake Samji.

They visited the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and climbed Mt. Paektu.

At Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they went round historic relics showing his childhood.

They held an oath-taking meeting before his old home in the Paektusan Secret Camp.

They pledged to become fortresses and shields devotedly defending Marshal Kim Jong Un politically and ideologically and at the risk of their lives, while holding Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as the sun of Juche for all ages.

During the study tour they conducted a contest of information and agitation of anti-Japanese guerrilla-style, a question-and-answer study contest, a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array and other political and cultural work.
