Revolutionary Drama "Celebrations" Staged to Mark Anniversary of Country's Liberation
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary drama "Celebrations" was staged at the National Theatre here on August 15, the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Among the audience were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, state and army officials, officials of armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, other officials and other people in the city.

Overseas compatriots, diplomatic envoys of various countries, representatives of international organizations, military attaches and their wives here were invited to enjoy it.

The revolutionary drama "Celebrations", adapted from the classic "Celebrations" personally created by the President during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, is a monumental masterpiece created as a "Mountain Shrine"-style revolutionary drama under the energetic guidance of Kim Jong Il.

The drama tells a story about how anti-Japanese guerillas turned the "celebration meeting" of Japs making false propaganda that they had "wiped out" the guerillas into the one of the guerillas and people by annihilating a "punitive force" of the Japanese imperialists.

The audience was deeply impressed by the drama which clearly proved through ideological and artistic depiction the truth of history that the imperialists are fated to their doom no matter how desperately they make a false show of power and the popular masses will surely win a victory in their struggle for achieving independence.
