Letter to Kim Jong Un from Participants in International Celebration
Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un on Friday received a letter from the participants in the international event for celebrating the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The letter said:

President Kim Il Sung embarked on the road of the anti-Japanese war with a great ambition for the revolution in his teens, putting an end to the Japanese imperialists' decades-long colonial rule and thus achieving the historic cause of the country's liberation.

These immortal feats performed by the President helped the Korean people enjoy an independent and creative life as the master of their destiny and gave strong impetus to the anti-imperialist national liberation struggle of the oppressed people in the world.

Leader Kim Jong Il firmly defended socialism, added shine to the DPRK as a political, ideological and military power despite the imperialists' persistent moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and adopted the historic north-south joint declarations, paving a bright way of achieving Korea's reunification.

One can safely say that the contemporary history of the DPRK is an immortal history recorded with the outstanding feats of the President and Kim Jong Il who led the DPRK along the road of independence with their experienced and tested politics, protected the peace and stability in Northeast Asia and other parts of the world and made a great contribution to the human cause of independence.

While witnessing and experiencing for ourselves the reality of the DPRK undergoing changes with each passing day, we came to have firm conviction that the Korean people will surely build a prosperous and thriving reunified socialist nation and the DPRK will shed more brilliant rays all over the world under the leadership of Your Excellency.

We will as ever voice unequivocal support and solidarity for all lines and policies put forward by Your Excellency and always stand by the Korean people.
