Tablet to Honor Kim Jong Il Unveiled in Russia
Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- A tablet to honor leader Kim Jong Il was unveiled at a restaurant in Vladivostok, Russia.

Written on the tablet were letters "Generalissimo of the DPRK Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK visited our restaurant during his visit to the Far East District of the Russian Federation on Aug. 24, 2002" in Russian and Korean.

An unveiling ceremony of the tablet took place on the spot on Aug. 10.

The general manager of the Resnaya Zaimka Co. Ltd and the DPRK consul general unveiled the tablet.

A floral basket, bouquets and flowers were laid before the tablet.

The former chief of the Khasan District Administrative Office said that he could not forget the time he was greeting Kim Jong Il at Khasan Railway Station.

The vice-director of the Export and External Economic Activities Bureau of the Ministry of Development of Far East said that the bilateral relations are rapidly developing in recent days, adding that all this was ascribable to Kim Jong Il who visited the Far Eastern areas of the Russian Federation in 2002 and provided a solid foundation for the development of the bilateral relations.

He expressed his will to closely cooperate with the DPRK to raise the level of the Russia-DPRK economic cooperation, deeply aware of the importance of the cooperative relations between the two countries.

The vice-major of the Vladivostok City said that the tablet clearly proves that the Russia-DPRK relations are developing at a high level and his administrative office will make due efforts to develop the cooperation and exchange with the DPRK in conformity with it.
