S. Korean Scholars Urge Japan to Liquidate Its Past
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- More than 700 south Korean scholars held a press conference in Seoul on Aug. 10 and made public a declaration in demand of Japan's liquidation of its past, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Voice of People.

Speakers accused the Japanese government of distorting history, far from admitting, making an apology and reparation for the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army.

Saying that the Japanese government is deceiving the victims while talking about the aid to victims of sexual assault and flesh traffic, they urged it to admit its sexual slavery, make an apology and reparation for it and make efforts to prevent its recurrence and ensure peace.

They asserted that Japan should admit state responsibility according to international law for wars of aggression ignited by it against Asian countries in the past and its colonial rules over them as they are obviously international crimes.

They stressed that the scholars would wage a struggle in demand of Japan's liquidation of its past and peace.
