Red Flag Relay of KPA Service Personnel Goes on
Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- The red flag relay of servicepersons of the Korean People's Army (KPA) that kicked off to mark the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation is going on.

After reaching Jikdong Pass, the service personnel visited on August 10 the Jihyesan Revolutionary Site associated with the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung performed in winning the victory in the war.

They went round various places including the rock at which the President unrolled a wise operational line for defending Height 1211 after climbing Mt. Jihye on the forefront under the hail of bullets and shells.

On the same day they passed Chol Pass telling the history of the Songun revolutionary leadership of the peerlessly great men.

They laid bouquets before the Cholryong Monument to the Revolutionary Activities of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

A meeting was held there to learn about their greatness.

The service personnel from the eastern sector of the front handed a red flag bearing letters "the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu" to those of the unit joining in the red flag relay.

The participants of the relay arrived at Mt. Osong, mountain of Songun, on Tuesday.

They held a meeting on revolutionary anecdotes at the unit associated with the leadership exploits of the peerlessly great men on that evening.

They left Mt. Osong flying the revolutionary red flag associated with the soul of Mt. Paektu.

They met with war veterans on Wednesday.

While marching, they heard soldiers presenting what they learned from reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerillas and had an oratorical meeting and river crossing.
