River Improvement Project Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- A river improvement project is going on at a fast tempo in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

According to data available, dredging and embankment were carried out in scores of rivers and streams throughout the country in the recent two months. In total, a section extending tens of kilometers was dredged up and embanked to prevent flooding.

Various cities and counties of South Phyongan Province finished such project in their areas. In particular, officials and residents in Anju City removed more than 23 000 cubic meters of earth and built over 600 meters of embankment in the Ryonghwa Dyke No. 4 after concluding the embankment project on Kumgang Islet in 50 days.

Similar project has been conducted in North Phyongan, South Hamgyong, and other provinces of the country.
