DPRK-Russia Stamp Exhibition Opens
Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- A DPRK-Russia stamp exhibition opened here under the co-sponsorship of the Philatelists Union of Korea and the Russian National Philatelists Academy to mark the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

On display at the venue of the exhibition hall was a photo depicting a stamp bearing portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Also on show were stamps on the themes of the exploits the President performed by liberating the country, validity and vitality of the Songun politics pursued by the Workers' Party of Korea, the victory of Russia in the great Patriotic War and the DPRK-Russia friendly relations, and other stamps presented by philatelists of the DPRK and Russia.

An opening ceremony took place at the Korean Stamp Exhibition House on Tuesday.

Present there were Kim Yong Gil, chairman of the Philatelists Union of Korea, Kim Jin Bom, chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association who doubles as vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, officials concerned, Pyongyangites, philatelists, Alexandr Minaev, charge d'affaires ad interim of the Russian embassy here, and his embassy officials, Russian guests staying here and foreign diplomatic envoys here.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round stamps on display.
