Japan Accused of Distorting History
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Recently, an official of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan blustered that labor conscription of those of the Korean peninsula origin in the past doesn't appertain to forced labor in view of international law.

Asserting the international community is "misunderstanding" the truth about the past sexual slavery, the party released a proposal urging the Japanese government to categorically refute it.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Monday says:

The above-said moves clearly prove that the Japanese reactionaries have reached an extreme phase in their brazen-faced and impudent moves to cover up the hideous crimes perpetrated by Japanese imperialism against humanity.

Historical facts can never be concealed, the paper noted, and continued:

Former Chief Cabinet Secretary Kono repeatedly clarified his stand that coercion was obviously applied not only to drafting Koreans but to enlisting "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army.

More than 500 intellectuals in the U.S. and other countries issued a joint statement urging the Japanese authorities to make repentance and apology for its past wrongs including the sexual slavery.

The Japanese reactionaries are making desperate efforts to distort the history in a bid to prevent the disclosure of their past crimes while talking about "honor", but this will only bring into bold relief the disgrace of being a war criminal state.

There is no future for those who deny history.
