The preparatory committee for joint national events to mark the 15th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and the 70th anniversary of country's liberation declared it would hold a conference for national reunification near University Street in Seoul on August 15.

The committee for promotion of August 15 all-people conference for peace against war decided to hold the conference and stage a march.

The Confederation of Trade Unions set the period of reunification movement from August 9 to 15 and announced that it would form vanguard of workers for reunification and stage actions across south Korea in protest against the U.S. anthrax germ experiment and moves to introduce THAAD and Japan's moves for rearmament. It also declared it would hold a meeting of workers on August 15 to protest the Park Geun Hye regime's unpopular rule.

The Federation of University Students also declared that it would form a group of marchers for reunification and march across south Korea from August 8 to 15 in demand of the probe into the truth about introduction of anthrax germs, lifting of "May 24 step", stop to Ulji Freedom Guardian exercises and probe into the truth behind the Intelligence Service's illegal hacking.
