Media Persons Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt. Paektu Area
Samjiyon, August 7 (KCNA) -- Media persons made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from August 1 to 7.

They laid bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung at the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo, the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, Chongbong Bivouac, the shore of Lake Samji and the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area and the mosaic depicting the three commanders of Mt. Paektu in the secret camp on Mt. Paektu and paid tribute to them.

At the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site they looked round the command post of the battle, the police post of the Japanese imperialists and the subcounty office.

They also toured the Spring Site in Poso-ri, the monument to proposition in the tableland of Junghung and the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site associated with revolutionary feats of leader Kim Jong Il.

Seeing the trees bearing slogans at Chongbong, Konchang and Pegaebong bivouacs, they enshrined the faith of sure victory displayed by the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners who fought for the country and nation in a do-or-die spirit.

After arriving at Lake Samji, they looked round groups of sculptures of the Samjiyon Grand Monument, deeply grasping the boundless reverence of the anti-Japanese guerrillas and people for Kim Il Sung and their indomitable fighting spirit and ardent patriotism.

After marching along the Kapsan-Musan guard road, they visited the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area. They climbed Mt. Paektu.

At Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they went round historic relics preserved with much care at his old home, being briefed on the fact that he was born into the Shining Star of Mt. Paektu and grew up, hearing gunfire of the anti-Japanese war as a lullaby.

During the study tour they had meetings to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them, poem-reciting meetings and conducted sports games and other colorful political and cultural work.
