Pyongyang Home for Aged Inaugurated
Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Home for the Aged has been successfully built on the bank of the River Taedong in the wake of the Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage.

It has the best amenities for the health and living of the aged such as bedrooms, dining rooms, library, exercise rooms and treatment wards.

A ceremony of its completion took place on Friday.

Present there were O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier, Jong Yong Su, minister of Labor who doubles as chairman of the Central Committee of the Federation for the Care of the Elderly of Korea, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, commanding officers and soldier-builders of the unit of the Korean People's Army which took part in its construction, officials of the home and its health-seekers and employees, officials of party and power bodies and those of relevant units in the city.

O Su Yong, addressing the ceremony, said that the Pyongyang Home for the Aged is the edifice provided by the WPK with love for the people, true to the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

There are many countries and aged people in the world, but it is only the DPRK led by the peerlessly great men which built such palace-like home for the aged, he noted.

Representatives of health-seekers cut the inaugural tape.

Officials concerned and officials and employees of the home congratulated the health-seekers moving to the new home.
