National Exhibition of Inventions and New Technologies Closes
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- A national exhibition of inventions and new technologies closed with due ceremony at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House on Thursday. It was opened on the 70th anniversaries of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Korea's liberation.

Remote system for supporting operation, wind-powered water pump, general analyzer for fishpond water and other research achievements on display at the exhibition were appreciated by the participants for their good idea, big economic profits and practical significance.

The exhibition also involved a work for widely introducing more than 250 scientific and technological achievements conducive to the building of an economic power, exchange of intellectual products, scientific and technological public presentation and lecture.

Present at the closing ceremony were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Jang Chol, president of the State Academy of Sciences, officials concerned, scientists, technicians and inventors.

15 units placed first. They included the State Academy of Sciences, Academy of Agricultural Science, Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport, Publication Guidance Bureau, Pyongyang City Science and Technology Committee and the Chollima Tile Factory.

The first prize went to more than 100 presenters including Pak Kyong Hwa, researcher of the Marine Transportation Science Institute, Yun Song Chol, chief engineer of the Sangwon Cement Complex, and Han Hoe Bok, workshop manager of the Changgong Trade Company.

A closing address was made by Choe Sang Gon, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission.
