DPRK's Yang Kyong Il Tops World Freestyle Wrestling Standings

| Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Yang Kyong Il of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea topped the world standings in men's 57 kg freestyle wrestling, according to an announcement recently issued by the United World Wrestling. Yang, a wrestler of the Ryongnamsan Sports Team in the DPRK, is the twice world championship holder. He took the men's 55kg and 57kg freestyle wrestling titles at the World Wrestling Championship held in 2009 and 2014. He won bronze medal in the men's 55kg freestyle wrestling of the 30th Olympic Games and proved successful at the Asian Wrestling Championship in 2011 and other international tournaments. He was selected as one of the ten best players of the DPRK in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014. |
