Brilliant Life of Kang Pan Sok
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of people is visiting the Chilgol, Mangyongdae and Ponghwa revolutionary sites in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the demise of Kang Pan Sok (April 21, 1892-July 31, 1932), the outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement.

She helped revolutionary activities of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter, and President Kim Il Sung, as a wife of a revolutionary and a mother of a revolutionary and took active part in revolutionary activities.

With the assistance of Kim Il Sung, she organized the anti-Japanese women's association and led the Korean women to the struggle for achieving national liberation and social emancipation.

Though she suffered from serious illness, she dedicated herself to the foundation of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army to be led by Kim Il Sung.

Kim Il Sung in his reminiscences "With the Century" said:

I would renew my resolve by recalling the words my mother had said to me as she pushed me off to south Manchuria, and the last image of my mother dressed in white seeing me off, before seeking recourse to an ideology or philosophical proposition.

As his mother wished, Kim Il Sung liberated Korea from the Japanese colonial rule by leading the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory and founded the dignified DPRK.
