S. Korean Organizations Protest "Katsura-Taft Treaty"
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun's Nation and other national organizations in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on July 29 to condemn the U.S. and Japanese criminal acts.

They charged that the Korean nation was subject to slavery under the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists due to the "Katsura-Taft Treaty" concluded between the U.S. and Japan in 1905 and has suffered a tragedy of national split for 70 years.

Far from making apology and reparation, Japan is hell bent on the moves for reinvading the Korean peninsula, shamelessly tampering with history and running amuck to grab Tok Islets, they held.

They accused Japan of making desperate efforts to revive militarism under the patronage of the U.S., trumpeting about the "right to collective self-defense".

They dismissed the "Katsura-Taft Treaty" as invalid as it was concluded irrespective of the will of the Korean nation.

They demanded the U.S. and Japan make an apology to the Korean nation.
