Present there were officials of the association, members of the Korean Aged Men Association in Shenyang City and veterans of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) who entered the Korean front.

Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the association, in a speech said that the victory in the war on July 27 was an event to be specially recorded in the 20th century as the DPRK honorably displayed the dignity of the country and nation in the sacred war against imperialism and the U.S.

The CPV fought together the Korean people against aggressors during the Fatherland Liberation War, she noted, adding:

The signing of the Armistice Agreement was surrender for the U.S. imperialists as they bent their keens before the Korean people, and it was also a defeat of the imperialist allied forces.

CPV veterans said that no one could match the Korean people who turned out as one under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung to beat back the U.S. imperialist aggressors.

A reception was given in celebration of the anniversary on the same day.
