Anniversary of Law on Sex Equality Marked
Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- There took place a meeting of women at the Hall of Women on Tuesday on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality.

Speakers expressed deep thanks to the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu for putting forward the Korean women as mistresses of the country, powerful force pushing one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot and providing them with a worthy life and happiness.

Jong Yong Sun residing in Tongmun-dong No. 1, Taedonggang District told about the trust and loving care shown by President Kim Il Sung for her maternal grandmother Chae Ju Son who took part in the revolution under the guidance of Kang Pan Sok, mother of the President, before the liberation of the country and for her family.

The President made sure that all her family members who had lived in the northeast area of China settled in the homeland and took care of every aspect of their lives including healthcare and when her maternal grandmother passed away, he saw to it that her remains were buried in the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery, she added.

Ho Suk Yong, an accountant of the Sonhung Foodstuff Factory, said that the President appointed her grandmother Ho Jong Suk as first minister of Culture and Information Service after the founding of the DPRK, valuing her patriotism and kindly helped her keep the flower of revolution in bloom even in her declining years.

Kim Son Sil residing in Sojang-dong, Pothonggang District said her mother became the first woman deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly and worked as vice-chairwoman of the SPA under the care of the President and leader Kim Jong Il and that a feature film "Cradle" was produced on the basis of the life of her mother to be known to the whole country.

Kim Myong Yon, management board chairwoman of the Jangchon Vegetable Co-op Farm in Sadong District, said the great leaders brought up her, who was an 18-year old assistant agricultural engineer, to be an official responsible for a co-op farm. Thanks to the warm loving care of Marshal Kim Jong Un the farm has become a model of greenhouse-farm and the land of Jangchon turned into people's paradise, she added.

Present at the meeting were Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the women's union, officials concerned, officials of the women's union and its members in Pyongyang.
