Loving Care for War Veterans Shown by Great Leaders
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- The 4th National Conference of War Veterans took place here in the presence of supreme leader Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

At the conference, Kim Jong Un delivered a congratulatory speech, in which he highly praised war veterans as witnesses to the strength of heroic Korea and its history resplendent with victory, the country's priceless treasures representative of the era named after President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and heroes of our nation and genuine patriots who dedicated their youth and even their lives to defending the Party, the revolution, the country and the people.

Kim Il Sung valued and held up the war veterans, who were trained and tested in the crucible of war, as the core of the Party and the revolutionary ranks.

Kim Jong Il in his lifetime took measures to call the historic 1st National Conference of War Veterans and build the Monument to the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War on the bank of the Pothong River on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Fatherland Liberation War.

He also put forward war veterans as lecturers of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and saw to it that heroic soldiers like Ri Su Bok and An Yong Ae, who sacrificed their only lives for the country, were buried in the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery to let them always live in the minds of the people.

Thanks to his noble moral obligation to war veterans, the social trait of respecting forerunners of the revolution and following their heroic fighting spirit prevails in the country.

Kim Jong Un are holding war veterans in high esteem as victors of great age, noting that he respects and values them as his grandfathers and fathers.

He also attended a banquet for war veterans to congratulate them and had a photo session with them.

Under his profound loving care, cemeteries of fallen fighters of the Korean People's Army (KPA) in different parts of the country were refined and the bases for the education in the tradition of victory, including the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum reconstructed to immortalize heroic feats performed by the KPA fighters in the period of the war.

Deeply moved by the loving care shown by the great leaders, the war veterans are fully determined to devote their all to the Party, the revolution, the country and the posterity.
