S. Korean Trade Union Members Launch Hunger Strike

Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Members of the Metal Workers Trade Union of south Korea turned out in the struggle in protest against the management side which violated the right to existence, according to the south Korean internet paper Chamsesang on July 23.

The chief of the Kyongju branch and other leading members of the Metal Workers Trade Union went into a hunger strike in demand of regular payment of wages and guarantee of trade union activities.

On July 22 the Kyongju branch held a meeting at which it declared that it would struggle until the management side meets the demand of the trade union.
