For the successful tournament, preparations have been pushed forward, said Ju Jong Chol, secretary of the Table-tennis Association, when interviewed by KCNA.

He said:

First of all, the Table-Tennis Gymnasium in Chongchun Street, the venue of the tournament, has been spruced up. And the emblem for the tournament figured with a bat and ball and letters "Pyongyang 2015" was brought out.

Pyongyang Open will be held divided into male and female singles and doubles and U-21 singles with aces from Asian, European and American countries involved.

The DPRK team includes Ri Myong Sun, Ri Mi Gyong and Kim Hye Song who proved successful in the ITTF World Team Cup held in January.
