S. Korean Bodies Protest against Japan's Moves for Exercising "Right to Collective Self-defense"
Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- More than 120 national organizations of south Korea including the Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun's Nation made public a statement on July 17 in protest against Japan's moves for exercising "right to collective self-defense".

The statement accused Japan of working hard to justify war actions by reinterpreting the constitution in such a way as to enable Japan to exercise "right to collective self-defense" in disregard of the Pacifist Constitution.

The statement went on:

Japan is becoming ever more undisguised to revive militarism, raising a strong claim to "Tok Islets," far from making sincere apology and reparation for the crimes committed against the Korean nation including sexual slavery.

Branding the exercise of the "right to collective self-defense" as the second "Katsura-Taft Treaty" as it presupposes a war on the Korean peninsula, the statement expressed strong opposition to it.

It also denounced the U.S. attitude of "welcoming" passage of the security bills through a session of the House of Representatives of Japan.
