Suppression of Progressive Party Officials Denounced by S. Korean Paper

Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- The south Korean internet paper Voice of People on July 17 in an editorial denounced the south Korean prosecution authorities for searching houses of supreme members of the former Unified Progressive Party (UPP) on July 16. The party had been forcibly disbanded before.

The editorial said it is nonsensical to search the houses under the pretext that they created illegal political funds.

Noting that the rule under the pretext of security has been intensified since Hwang Kyo An took office as "prime minister", the editorial went on:

The search of the houses was made in a bid to cover up the illegal hacking case of the Intelligence Service and tide over the crisis of the authorities.
