Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- Nepali organizations made public a joint statement on July 16 in denunciation of the south Korean authorities for detaining DPRK residents. They included the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association, Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee, Committee for Promotion of Reunification of Korea, Journalist Association, Association for Supporting the Songun Politics, Study Forum for Self-Reliance and the Literary Forum for the Study of Songun Politics.

The statement said:

We, loving peace and valuing friendship with the Korean people, can hardly repress the indignation at the news that the south Korean authorities were forcibly detaining three of five DPRK residents who were adrift in the sea by accident.

The south Korean authorities should stop inhumane act against the fellow countrymen.

We strongly demand the south Korean authorities repatriate DPRK residents without delay.

We urge them not to deteriorate the north-south relations.
