It was one day in January Juche 41 (1952) that Kim Il Sung met an official to learn about treatment fees in hospitals. After acquainting himself in detail about it, he suggested enforcing free medical care system. He said there would be nothing to be spared for the people who were devoting their all to the victory in the war.

Under his wise guidance, a large number of medical workers had been trained and many hospitals and clinics rehabilitated during the war.

On this basis, the DPRK Cabinet decision No. 203 on enforcement of the universal free medical care system was released on November 13, 1952.

The history of loving care for the people is now creditably carried forward in the DPRK by supreme leader Kim Jong Un, who prioritizes the interests and conveniences of the people and hold them absolute.
