Killing of Civilians during Korean War Disclosed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- The Women's Society for Achieving Peace in south Korea on July 17 held a meeting in Sanchong, South Kyongsang Province to disclose killing of civilians by the south Korean puppet army during the past Korean war, according to the south Korean internet paper Thongil News.

Victims testified that in February 1951, the 3rd Battalion of the 9th Regiment of the 11th Division of the puppet army massacred more than 700 civilians in a day in Kumso-myon, Sanchong County and several villages in Hamyang County of South Kyongsang Province under the pretext of "operation for routing communist bandits". This was part of the "operation plan" of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces, they said.

Referring to the fact they narrowly escaped death in the site of massacre and had lived in pain and nightmare, the victims expressed their towering resentment at the merciless killers of their kinsfolk.

Nevertheless, the authorities have not taken any measure for probing the truth behind the massacre, the victims said.
