The Russian paper Selskaya Zhizn on July 9 dedicated a whole page to an article titled "Flowers praising leaders" illustrated with a photo showing the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung. The article explained how Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia came into being in the world and that they received top prizes at the world horticultural expos and exhibitions.

The Senegalese paper Le Populaire on July 6 said in an article titled "Great man and famous flower" Kimilsungia was named at the proposal of Sukarno, the first president of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Senegalese radio on July 8 aired the following program:

Kimilsungias are being cultivated and disseminated in various parts of the world and they win admiration of so many people.

The 1st Kimilsungia Festival was held in Pyongyang in April 1999.

The flower received top prizes at the world horticultural expos and exhibitions including the one held in Shenyang, China in 2006.

The President is still alive in the hearts of humankind together with Kimilsungia.
