The 26th issue of the Russian paper Veteran carried an article illustrated with a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung.

The President was a generalissimo who defeated the U.S. and Japanese imperialists in one generation, the paper said, and went on:

He beat down the Japanese imperialists and liberated Korea from their military occupation in the last century.

In the Korean war he defeated the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world and fully demonstrated the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

Miraculous victories achieved by the DPRK were the brilliant fruition of his strategies, tactics, military war methods and superb commanding art.

He led the fierce confrontation with U.S. imperialism to victory in the post war period, reliably defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

His military exploits will shine forever in the world history of struggle against imperialism.

The July issue of the Bulgarian paper Iskra said in an article titled "July 27, day of victory" that the Korean people grandly celebrate July 27 as the day of victory in the war every year as they defeated U.S. imperialists and won great victory.
