Sturgeon Farming Makes Progress in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has made a rapid advance in technology for breeding sturgeon.

It succeeded in raising the sturgeon hatchability by 90 percent to the maximum.

Sturgeon fry is now being mass-produced with help of up-to-date hatching facilities.

Leader Kim Jong Il in his lifetime initiated the sturgeon culture and indicated the orientation and ways for its success.

True to his instruction, scientists and technicians in the field of pisciculture of the country settled the problems arising in spawning and hatching of sturgeon and production of its fry while studying the global development of sturgeon farming.

When visiting a fish farm in the country in May Juche 104 (2015), supreme leader Kim Jong Un praised the farm for having put the sturgeon hatching on a scientific basis, saying this shows the country has reached a high stage of piscicultural technique.
