Rodong Sinmun Warns of Consequences to Be Entailed by THAAD Deployment in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The U.S. persists in grumbling about "nuclear and missile threats" from the DPRK in a bid to justify deployment of its THAAD in south Korea.

Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in an article.

It goes on:

The real aim the U.S. administration is seeking through THAAD deployment in south Korea is to carry out its Asia-Pacific strategy.

Grave will be consequences to be entailed by THAAD deployment whose signs are already on show.

The U.S. is forcing the south Korean puppet forces to introduce THAAD, touching off fiercer arms race and sophisticated weapons development race in Asia-Pacific. THAAD now under development by the U.S. is by no means for coping with "threats" from the DPRK but it targets big powers in Asia-Pacific.

Not only the U.S. but also big powers in the region are vying to develop supersonic missiles. The U.S., which is keen on holding an unchallenged military edge over other countries, is busy to keep big powers from developing the supersonic missiles, being fretful about it.

It is as clear as pikestaff that if THAAD is deployed in south Korea, this will spark off fiercer race for developing ultra-modern striking weapons among big powers.

THAAD deployment in south Korea will drastically increase military tension between the countries around the DPRK and the U.S. If a conflict occurs, south Korea will be the first target of the DPRK's neighboring countries as it has turned into a forefront base and advanced nuclear base for carrying out its American master's Asia-Pacific strategy. For this reason the Korean peninsula may turn into a flash point of a new world war, quite contrary to the aspiration and desire of all Koreans for peace.
