S. Korean Authorities' Suppression of Workers Protested
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- More than 5 000 members under the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a meeting at Seoul Railway Station plaza on June 27 to denounce the puppet forces for violating the vital rights of workers, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Voice of People.

Speakers deplored that toiling workers get wages lower than the minimum living cost.

The regime seeks labor market restructuring aimed at lay-off, low wages and part-time job system as well as clampdown on the core members of the Confederation of Trade Unions, they said.

They called on all workers to fight in unity for wage hike and to check the retrogressive restructuring of the labor market.

They declared they would launch a general strike on July 15 in protest against the present regime's suppression of workers.
