S. Korean Organizations Call for Abrogating South Korea-Japan "Agreement"
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on June 22 calling for abrogating the humiliating agreement covering up Japan's past aggression, according to the south Korean internet paper Thongil News. They included the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, the Bar Association for Democratic Society and the Confederation of Trade Unions.

The organizations said in a press release that the south Korea-Japan "agreement" signed by the Park Chung-Hee regime in 1965 was to hide Japan's crimes.

Under the pretext of the "agreement", the Japanese government denied the atrocities committed by the Japanese imperialists including sexual slavery and conscription, shunned the settlement of issues and has persistently distorted history.

They urged the government of Japan to admit its past aggression and illegality of its colonial rule and abrogate the "agreement".

The south Korean chief executive should not forget that the humiliating agreement signed by Paek Chung-Hee gave the Japanese government a pretext to evade the liquidation of its crimes, they warned.
