The editorial noted that MERS cases for the past one month clearly proved what is the problem of the south Korean society.

The vulnerable anti-epidemic services and the incompetence of the "government" are problems, but a more serious matter is lack of confidence among the "government" and hospitals, patients and protectors, it said, and went on:

What was most clearly manifested was the practice of telling lies. Deceiving each other, south Korean society is seized with increasing fear and MERS spread has become worse.

The reality goes to prove that a society without confidence and solidarity may collapse because of disease.
