Drought to Linger in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- From June 11 to 22, overall areas of North and South Hwanghae provinces in the DPRK witnessed much rain, with 95 mm in Haeju City and 99 mm in Samchon, 97 mm in Sinchon, 72 mm in Anak, 90 mm in Sinphyong, 80 mm in Unpha, 79 mm in Koksan and 77 mm in Suan counties.

In this regard, Sim Myong Ok, deputy director of the Central Weather Forecast Station under the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, told KCNA:

Though it rained in North and South Hwanghae provinces, drought would continue to linger in the country.

As the anticyclone over northwest Pacific, which would affect the Eastern Asia, is not getting stronger enough due to El Nino, the rainy season is anticipated to set in late with comparatively little rainfall.
