Kim Jong Su, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Writers and Artists in Japan, said the writers and artistes of the union are missing very much Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, once again recollecting the north-south summits, the adoption of the joint declaration and remarkable changes and achievements made in the June 15 era of reunification.

Ri Thae Il, chairman of the Central Standing Management Board of the Korean Youth Commercial Association in Japan, noted that the young Korean people in Japan will positively join in the nationwide movement for opening up an epochal phase in the development of the inter-Korean relations under the banner of the joint declaration and thus devote all efforts to making this year marking the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation a decisive year in accomplishing the cause of national reunification.

Ri Yong Su, chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, said that the statement of the DPRK government comprehensively clarifies the basic stand to be adhered to in improving the inter-Korean relations and settling the reunification issue, the way of defusing tension and steps for doing so, and reflects ardent patriotism and the Korean nation-first spirit of paving a wide avenue to independent reunification by bringing about a great turn and changes in the inter-Korean relations.

Kim Ro Hyon, chairman of the Korean Sportsmen's Federation in Japan, said that the Korean sportspersons in Japan would intensify sports activities with broad strata of compatriots involved and make tangible contributions to the movement for thoroughly implementing the north-south joint declarations.
