Pyongyang Turns into Greenery
Pyongyang, June 20 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, is daily changing its appearance as a city covered with green foliage.

This year more than 500 000 fruit and other trees were planted in streets, parks and compounds of industrial establishments.

New species of cosmos came into full bloom in different parts of the city covering an area of 110 000 square meters, including Pyongyang Baby Home, Orphanage and Pyongyang Catfish Farm.

Also, turfs of new species were planted in areas of 213 000 square meters.

The Horticultural Management Bureau of the Pyongyang City People's Committee has enhanced its role to further afforest every district of the city, taking flexible measures to solve the issues arising in planting trees and laying out green areas.

Meanwhile, a brisk work is going on to plant more fruit trees in farms around the city.
