Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A joint meeting was sponsored by the Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled (KFPD) in Pyongyang on June 18 on the occasion of the 2015 National Day of Persons with Disabilities. At the meeting, foreigners could see disabled persons enjoying happy life in the DPRK thanks to the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state.

When interviewed by KCNA at the meeting, Michael John Gifford, British ambassador to the DPRK, said:

I was very impressed by the event today. I think that the KFPD is doing a good job in promoting the disabled's rights here in the DPRK. We have had long relationship with the KFPD. I want to show that continue. In particular, we are very pleased that the delegation of the disabled's performance was able to visit the UK a few months ago. I very much hope that kind of cultural cooperation would continue in order to build trust between the UK and the DPRK. Certainly we have seen a very talented performance and we enjoyed the performance. I enjoyed the performance very much today.

Rajesh Chandra of the European Union Programme Support in the DPRK said:

The event was very good. And I can see the commitment and dedications of the KFPD and the government of the DPRK who are really working very hard to ensure that the people with disabilities are really participating in the meeting of the society.
