DPRK Scholar Hits at Japan's Distortion of Past History
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- A Japanese ultra-rightist politician recently sent parcels to victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army residing in south Korea. The parcel contained a box written "fifth grade supplies" that means prostitutes providing sex to servicemen.

Such another insulting deed is now lashing the Koreans and other world people into great furor.

This reveals again the Japanese reactionaries' scheme to distort the past history of aggression and grab other countries' territories, Dr. Jon Tong Chol of Kim Il Sung University told KCNA.

He further said:

The Japanese imperialists took away 200,000 women from Korea by exercise of government power and forced them into sexual slavery for their aggression troops at battle sites. It was a hideous crime against humanity that is unprecedented in the world history of wars.

However, Japan has denied this stark fact and made insults to the victims of the sex slavery despite the bitter criticism by the world community calling for honest apology and repentance.

Some of Japan's right-wing politicians stunned the international community with such assertions that the sexual slavery was necessary at that time, it was a "voluntary deed by prostitutes for money" and the issue should be handled at a meeting of historians and experts.

Also hooligans of Japan made attacks on the monuments to the sex slaves and buildings related to them in different parts of the world, evoking strong public criticism.

All those provocative actions were evidently prompted by the ultra-rightist politicians and reactionary organizations of Japan.

The facts show that Japan is now running headlong toward the extreme right and militarism.

Some days ago, more than 400 renowned historians of the world and 16 organizations of Japan issued statements urging Japanese Prime Minister Abe to stop the distortion of history related to the sexual slavery.

And more than 280 intellectuals of Japan strongly demanded on June 8 that the government should admit the state responsibility for the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army.

Japan should discard its wrong outlook on ethics and history and pay attention to the just demand of domestic and world public.
