DPRK Wins in World Cup Asian Qualifier Match with Uzbekistan
Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- The DPRK football team beat its Uzbek rival 4:2 in a second-round Asian qualifier for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Kim Il Sung Stadium here on Tuesday.

The stadium was crowded with tens of thousands of citizens.

In the match Pak Kwang Ryong of the DPRK scored the first goal for the team in four minutes. Other scores were made by Jang Kuk Chol in 16 minutes, Ro Hak Su in 34 minutes and Ri Hyok Chol in 36 minutes.

The Uzbek team scored two goals in 52 and 79 minutes.

Earlier on June 11, the DPRK team won a match with its Yemeni rival 1:0. After all it has secured six points with two wins in two matches at present.

After the match, Kasimov Mirjalal, chief coach of the Uzbek team, told reporters that it was a very fierce competition and that the DPRK team has good abilities and its footballers are well prepared physically.

Kim Chang Bok, chief coach of the DPRK team, said that the victory was attributable to the application of the guerrilla-style offensive tactics taught by supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Spectators' enthusiastic cheering also encouraged our footballers and coaches greatly, he said, expressing the will to live up to the citizens' expectation with better results.
