Making of Soy and Bean Paste, National Intangible Heritage
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Making of soy and bean paste is registered as one of the national intangible heritages in the DPRK.

The Koreans have long taken soy and bean paste as side dish or spices, which are considered to be peculiar foodstuff of the nation showing its wisdom and food culture.

The long history of soy and bean paste is evidenced by the records on Koguryo (B.C. 277-A.D. 668) tomb murals. At that time each family would make the soy and bean paste on its own way, regarding them as a precious thing decisive of its prosperity.

Bean paste is recently known to the world as one of the best health food which is effective in preventing cancer.
